Jane Eyre 2011 trailer!

Thanks to Renee for posting the trailer - looks like it just debuted this week! In addition to providing us with a terrific look at Michael Fassbender as Rochester and Mia Wasikowska as Jane, we also get glimpses of Judi Dench as Mrs. Fairfax, Jamie Bell as St. John, Imogen Poots as Blanche Ingram, and Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Reed. Enjoy!

March 2011 can't come soon enough. :)

Thanks for posting this movie trailer! I am a fan of any adaptation of the novel that remains true to the plot -- this looks like it will be a good one!

@Joanne - You're welcome! I agree, based on this trailer it looks like the filmmakers have done a great job of staying true to the novel.

I'm so glad you posted this! Also glad 1.) They picked someone relatively "new" for Jane Eyre. 2.) Rochester has studly capabilities. I've always thought movie versions make him too old. When I read the book, I pictured him in his 30's or 40's - and I think that's an awesome decade for guys as far as attractiveness goes (... most likely cause I'm there ... hahaha :) This movie looks so amazing. I adore Jane Eyre. I've been reading April Lindler's Jane. Have you read it yet? I really like what she did with the story!

@Natalie - Me too, I think Mia will prove to be a great choice for Jane. And I completely, 100% agree with your perception of Rochester - when I read the book I never picture him as old as he's been, or come across, in older film versions. And guys in their 30's and 40's...well 100% agree with you there, and I think for the exact same reasons! LOL!!! Haven't read Lindler's Jane yet but I really want to...glad you are enjoying it!

@Polka Dot - I hope that proves true! :) What did you think of the 2007 miniseries?

@Renee - OF COURSE I mentioned you, I owe you for bringing the trailer to my attention! :) I think Fassbender really looks like Toby Stephens in the trailer...or maybe I'm just projecting?! LOL!!

@Kristin - It does look marvelous, doesn't it? :)

Confession: I haven't read Jane Eyre. Well, I've actually read roughly half, give or take, of Jane Eyre, but I never finished it. *gasp*

Reason: I was eleven or twelve at the time. The back of the book says, "The thrilling story of mystery, betrayal and love." I, apparently, did not find anything thrilling about it.

But: This trailer makes the story look exciting! Now I am left to ask myself such questions as, Is the story really exciting? Was I just to young to understand? Why did I never finish it? Why can't I even remember what it was about?

I am reading Jane Eyre before the year ends. I must.

Thank you for this inspiration. :)

I can not believe I haven't read it. What a fantastic trailer. I can hardly wait!

@Jennifer - It's okay, there's lots of books I've never read that I'm sure would shock people. *wink*

I hope you do revisit the book and that you enjoy it this time around. :) I have to be honest, parts of the last third do drag a bit for me (trying to be very vague and spoiler-free here, LOL)...but Jane and Rochester's romance gets me every time.

So you are quite welcome. :)

@Juju - Hope you can read JE before the movie comes out as well!

@vvb32 - I think Mia's casting is going to prove to be a stroke of genius! At least that's what I'm hoping... :)
