Wallander Series II continues Sunday, October 10, 2010, on MASTERPIECE MYSTERY! In The Man Who Smiled, a suspicious car accident and a friend's suicide lead Wallander into an international conspiracy that threatens countless innocent lives. Rupert Graves guest stars. (One episode; 90 minutes; TV-PG).I know I haven't reviewed the first episode (Faceless Killers) yet, but the week just got completely away from me. However, that's no comment on the episode because it was FANTASTIC. Since that happened, I may wait to review the series once it comes out on DVD.

Is a cop drama?
@Juju - Yep, Wallander is a Swedish detective.
I do find BBC's version of Wallander funny. A bunch of British actors running around in southern Sweden, playing Swedish characters according to a Swedish novel... speaking English. Maybe it would be less weird if I wasn't Swedish and have actually been to Ystad a few times. (Which ain't pronounced "ishta" btw. The "st" combination only becomes "sht" in German!)
I prefer watching Wallander with Krister Henriksson on BBC4 instead. In Swedish, with English subtitles. Much better! :)
@Traxy - I am so glad you chimed in! I have wondered about the Swedish version of Wallander - and how people from Sweden view such a British take on the books. The British/attempt to be Swedish mashup does seem odd at times. I do think this is Branagh's best screen work in ages though. Maybe it's best I don't have anything to compare it to! ;)
