The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy

Yesterday, thanks to a discussion thread on a friend's Facebook wall, I discovered the existence of this delightful webseries - The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy. I've only watched through episode four, but so far I am thoroughly enjoying this fresh, modern take on J.M. Barrie's classic! Here are the first two installments:

Prologue:

Growing Up (Episode 1):

You can access the rest of the episodes through the main website or YouTube channel.

@Deborah - It's been so long since I watched any Sanditon eps I didn't catch that. Thanks for pointing out the connection!!

Ha, I knew I recognized that guy from somewhere! I was getting ready to go figure out who he is, but here's the answer in the comments. :)

Thanks for posting about this, Ruth! I'll have to check it out. I'm looking for something to fill the void after the slightly disappointing ending of The Autobiography of Jane Eyre...I'm loving Emma Approved, of course, and I recently started watching the Anne Shirley one (Green Gables Fables) and it's pretty good, too.

@Kristin - Hope you enjoy this one! Thus far I think the acting and production values are top-notch.

I checked in w/ the Jane Eyre series every once in a while...and that ending? Awful. :P

Glad you are still enjoying Emma Approved! I'll have to check out the Anne Shirley one, so thanks for the rec. :)

Are you Esther's friend by any chance? I found this post by googling about the end of AoJE. It was disappointing! Overall the series was done well, but the pacing was off, and the ending did not have the payoff that I love with "Jane Eyre."

But yes, Peter + Wendy is amazing! Every episode is so tight, with great acting and overall production. I can never say enough good things :D So glad you like it!

I've heard about other Youtube literary series but I haven't been impressed with any others. Jane Eyre was about what I expected, and I wasn't hooked on the Anne of Green Gables one. We'll see how much I go through Peter + Wendy withdrawal when it's done.

From, Heather

@ingenu0us - Yes, I'm Esther's friend Ruth - nice to "meet" you here Heather! I completely agree with you about the end of AoJE...that was just sad (esp. as Jane Eyre is one of my favorites!).

I am SO glad I saw you mention Peter & Wendy to Esther! I am really enjoying it. I've only watched one Anne ep and was all "ehhh" but I may try some more. It's hard to top the production values and acting found in Pemberley Digital productions, and P&W!

Haven't watched this one yet though I did see it around. Maybe I'll wait as I did with LBD and binge watch it. ;)

Thanks for sharing, Ruth.

*goes to catch up on Emma Approved*

@Rissi - P&W are only at 17 episodes, so that's pretty do-able to catch up on if you are so inclined! ;) I have no idea how far they are planning to take it but I look forward to it!! Glad you are enjoying Emma Approved too.
