Hello, Twelve.

Peter Capaldi is the Twelfth Doctor! I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS. Well done, BBC. :)

I know nothing about him, so I don't know what to expect. (To be honest, after all of those rumors, I'm just incredibly glad the Doctor is still a man. :)

I have to admit that it might take me a while to adjust to an older Doctor! Especially as I'm rewatching DW and almost into the second series...I know I'll fall in love with Ten all over again.

... and there goes the Doctor's sex appeal. It'll be interesting to see if the ratings sink now that there's not a young heartthrob in the role.

@Kristin - I've seen Capaldi in quite a few things and I think he'll be terrific. :)

@Charity - Um, I beg to differ. Dude is a silver FOX. ;) And while I think Matt Smith is cute, most of my friends think he is the farthest thing in the world from a heartthrob. I really don't think Capaldi's age is going to sink the show at this point...the BBC has too much invested in this to give the greenlight to a sketchy prospect IMO.

I think Capaldi will be great. I know a lot of people are saying he's too old (they act like 55 is one step removed from death), but the man obvilously still has a lot of life in him! I think he'll bring new depth to the Doctor.

@Shaz - I completely agree! I love how this is (hopefully) going to force the show to change and grow, to bring a new dynamic to the Doctor and his relationships with the world, his enemies, and his companions. I can't wait to see how it plays out! :)

I don't mind it, maybe this means we can finally have an asexual Doctor back... but a lot of people WILL mind it.

@Charity - I'm just happy that thus far a good portion of the fandom seems okay with the age thing. I was gonna be ticked if they hung him out to dry on that score. ;)

I am really excited for this new doctor. I love Peter Capaldi. I trust Moffat. He's brilliant. Evil, but brilliant and since taking the reigns he hasn't steered us wrong yet!
