Wasn't there another adaption of this very recently? Not with David Suchet, but with someone else?

@heidenkind - Not that I'm aware of...??

I saw the 80s one and LOVED it!

@Juju - I remember seeing an older adaptation of this story years ago too - probably the same one? It's a great story...looking forward to seeing Suchet play it, since in my mind he's the "definitive" Poirot.

So excited about this. Poirot is my fave Agatha Christie detective, and David Suchet IS Poirot!!!

@Alexandra - I completely, 100% agree with your assessment! Suchet IS Poirot!

I am wondering how much they're going to alter the story (one of my faves), since they've done it before...I'm thinking of "The Clocks" a few years back, where they took out interesting bits (like Miss Pebmarsh being Sheila's mother) and stuck in ridiculous parts (like 4:13 representing Room 413, where Sheila was having some relationship). I wasn't happy with that. Weeeeell, we'll see. Happy about a David Suchet version, either way.

@Alexandra - Oh, I know exactly what you mean. And I don't know how your PBS station works, but for the last few years mine cuts 8-10 minutes of film for commercials and promos, sometimes drastically impacting the story's ability to make sense. Inevitably when I see the DVDs with the missing footage I'm at least somewhat happier. :) But either way, Suchet is LONG overdue to film this iconic story.
