Kenneth Branagh returns to his remarkable Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated role as the soul-searching Swedish cop in Wallander III, with three gripping new Kurt Wallander cases based on the character created by bestselling novelist and father of the Nordic noir craze, Henning Mankell.
In An Event in Autumn (September 9), The Dogs of Riga (September 16) and Before the Frost (September 23), the somber inspector's hard-won and fragile new hope is put to the test when the most brutal of crimes — and his own demons — are unearthed. But you've got to give the emotionally uneasy cop credit for even trying.
Branagh is reunited with Sarah Smart (Wuthering Heights) as detective Anne-Britt Hoglund and Jeany Spark (Tess of the d'Urbervilles) as his long-suffering daughter Linda, and joined by guest star Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė (Prime Suspect 6).
I'm seriously bummed that (due to his success in Hollywood, I'm sure!) Tom Hiddleston will not be returning for this series as Wallander's co-worker/protege Magnus. *sigh* Oh well, c'est la vie!
Here's a brief preview scene from Sunday's episode:

You can find my reviews of the first two seasons of Wallander via my Masterpiece Mystery page.
I do plan on reviewing these for the blog at some point, but with the way things have been going around here (i.e. my chronic lateness, maybe it's all in my head? LOL) I doubt I will keep up with it week to week, so please bear with me. :)
'Bout time. ;)
