why HELLO
Posting is apt to be a bit sporadic here for the next few days as I strive to meet several book review commitment deadlines...so I thought I'd check in and leave you with this delicious teaser photo from one of my new favorite things -- the Australian television show Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, recently released on Blu-ray and DVD. People, I love this show SO MUCH. And this picture makes me SO HAPPY. If I can ever get my act together I want to blog about this show UNTIL THE END OF TIME. But until then, meet Nathan Page as Detective Inspector Jack Robinson and Essie Davis as Miss Phyrne Fisher. :)
So what's new with everyone? Discover any new shows or films or fabulous reads?
Hey, Ruth! Funny you should blog about this - I am curious about it but am not sure at the same time. Wondering if I'd like it as well as some of my "other" mystery favorites just because of some reviews I've read.
ReplyDeleteWill look forward to your future thoughts!
Been reading 'Roses Have Thorns' (it's not bad) and enjoying 'Without a Trace.' ;)
New job plus occasional overtime means I'm falling behind on my own shows, so I haven't been actively searching for anything new. A coworker is lending me her Harry Potter books, so I'm finally reading those for the first time. Did check out Broadchurch and plan to watch more - someday.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm still in the honeymoon stage after falling in love with Doctor Who, and have gotten two of my sisters hooked on the show as well. I'm even watching classic episodes over lunch at work.
@Rissi - I ADORE this show so much...best television surprise in ages and ages (for me at any rate). :)
ReplyDeleteRoses Have Thorns is coming up on my TBR pile! :)
@Katie - Happy to hear about your new job! And let me know how you like Broadchurch when you can...and you can imagine I'm thrilled to hear how much you and your sisters are loving Doctor Who! :)
Ooo, so excited to find someone else who is gushing over Miss Fisher! Isn't it marvelous? I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a TV show. It's got everything I like: mystery, humour, atmosphere and ooo those fashions! So happy they've started filming season 2.
ReplyDelete@Shaz - Oh you're a Miss Fisher fan too? YAY! This show has totally blown my mind - mystery, humor, the attention to period detail, the music, and THE CLOTHES! It is going to be SO HARD to wait for season two! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Phryne! My husband just recently got me the first DVD collection and I'm trying to find time amongst my Review requests to sit down and watch. I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm convinced. I need to hunt this show down. Looks fantastic!
ReplyDelete@Bev - Hope you enjoy it! I've only read the first Phyrne book but I want to try more.
ReplyDelete@picky - It is FABULOUS. :)
Hugh has the most beautiful teeth I've ever seen, and I squeal every time Phryne and Jack are in the same room. Needless to say, I am counting down the days until Season 2 starts airing!
