Coriolanus trailer

It has been years...and I mean YEARS...since the words "Ralph Fiennes" and "hot" shared the same thought in my brain -- but after seeing this trailer, I'm thinking Ralph might be on his way to changing that opinion.

William Shakespeare?
GERARD BUTLER????

I'm intrigued. Apparently this is slated for a January 2012 release. Need to brush up on the play...

  1. Is it because he keeps playing Voldemort? ;)

  2. we definitely have to go see this if it comes to Green Hills. Did you see that it's directed by Ralph Fiennes too? I'm very curious.

  3. Can't say I agree with you about Ralph . . . but Gerard Butler is looking mighty fine in it!

Talk about a stellar cast! Ralph, Gerard, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, James Nesbit . . . and those were just the ones I recognized in that short excerpt! Unfortunately, the concept of the story, what little I could figure out, doesn't really do much for me.

  4. @heidenkind - HA!!! That might factor into it. ;)

@Lori - I am really looking forward to this one, especially after that review you sent me!

@Kaye - Something about his attitude -- I've got to give RF credit for trying. ;)

  6. WOW. I haven't read this play, but I will before it comes out! This reminds me of the most recent Macbeth with Patrick Stewart. You should definitely check it out!

Oh, and the Arkangel Audio of the plays are excellent. I use them in my classes, and I've listened to them on my own.

  7. @Read the Book - I haven't read this play either, but I'm thinking that's definitely going to happen before this film hits theaters. And I love audiobooks, so thanks for that recommendation!

Speaking of the Macbeth w/ Patrick Stewart (which I've yet to see), have you seen the Hamlet production starring David Tennant?

  8. I picked up Hamlet with Tennant a few days ago. I'm anticipating going into deep mourning when his run as the Doctor ends (which is coming fairly soon for me), so I knew I would need something else with him to help me out. After I watched Doomsday (*sob*), I couldn't watch Doctor Who for several days, I was that sad!

  9. @Read the Book - That will be a tough adjustment...trust me, I know! But I hope you'll like Matt Smith as Eleven -- he's really grown on me. :)
