I'd heard some buzz about the upcoming film adaptation of John le Carre's novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, but hadn't really looked into the film until news broke that the teaser trailer was released today. Take a look:
Suddenly I'm very interested in this film. :) Cold War spies? Yes please!
The cast is amazing - Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Benedict Cumberbatch and Laura Carmichael, just to name a few.
Has anyone read the book? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
i have no idea what the story is about but just the cast wins me already. is it also sad that i cannot see Gary Oldman anymore without yelling "sirius black!" in my mind?
ReplyDeleteI read this book a few years ago. It was my first John le Carre. I enjoyed it enough to have read a few more since then. And what a great cast! Guess we're going to be making a few trips to the movies in the next few months!
ReplyDelete@Deborah - Nope, you're not the only one, I do the same thing! LOL!
ReplyDelete@Anne - Glad to know you enjoyed the book, I will have to check it out!
Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch - just needed to hear one of these names to watch the trailer. Two to put the movie on my must-watch list. But all three AND an interesting premise? Can I preorder tickets now?
ReplyDeleteI must admit, though - it was weird seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as a blond.
@Katie - This cast blows my mind! It's going to be a long wait till November or December, whenever it hits my local theater. *sigh* :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, it certainly looks interesting and Benedict Cumberbatch is in it which is cool. ;) Are you gonna write a review on it when it comes out by any chance? :)
ReplyDelete@Elaine - That's the plan. :)
