This is a dream come true! According to this article, RICHARD ARMITAGE will play Thorin Oakenshield!!! OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH!!! My happiness knows no bounds!!!
I haven't been following Hobbit casting news, so it's very good to see some faces finally. I like who they've cast as Bilbo. I'm having a hard time seeing RA as a dwarf, of all things. I would have thought a Dalesman maybe. But... I know this pleases you and many others very very much. :)
A dwarf with a great big beard! And the thing is, we'll still want to jump his bones. *giggle* So if he took it thinking we'd (for once) not be that keen, he's sorely mistaken. I'm sure he'll look astonishing regardless.
And looking up his character on Wikipedia, it says he's a keen singer or something like that. We're actually going to hear the man SING?? :O Yay!
@Lori - I wouldn't have picked RA as a dwarf, either...maybe Bard the Bowman? But since it's been years since I've read The Hobbit, I just read the plot summary on Wikipedia as a refresher...and goodness, I had completely forgotten that Thorin is such a key player! This will be huge for RA's big screen career!
@Traxy - Well no matter what he looks like, we'll have the voice. *swoon* LOL! And hearing him sing...when Viggo Mortensen did that in LOTR I about died...I'm sure I'll do the same when it comes to RA. :)
There's some very nice press about RA's acting coming in because of this:) Of course we all knew he was a gem in the making after N&S... At least we'll have THE VOICE even if he is in elf or gnome mode!
Sorry for the word verification & comment moderation, but lately the spammers have been out in force. Hopefully this will just be a temporary situation!
