Well, I didn't watch The Unseen Alistair Cooke on Masterpiece Classic Sunday night, and at this point there's no telling when or if that will even happen. C'est la vie! But in my previous post about the program, in the comments section Deborah reminded me of Monsterpiece Theater! Anyone besides me & Deborah remember these skits? In the spirit of all things Masterpiece, I decided to share a few YouTube clips here...

@Deborah - Thanks for the post idea! These clips were a lot of fun to revisit. Dances With Wolves is hilarious!!
@heidenkind - Thanks for the link - Grover and Harry throwing around "old chap" and "old bean" cracked me up!!! Great pick!
Love 'em!
do you remember that they also did a Mystery parody, Mysterious Theater with Vincent Twice Vincent Twice. Though I think those only featured Sherlock Hemlock. Oh Sesame Street..it's hilarious how many adult stuff they do that just goes over kid's heads.
@Renee Ann - Glad you enjoyed the clips! :)
@Deborah - Okay, I have NO memory of Mysterious Theater! Tragic! I'm gonna have to check out some clips on YouTube...Sherlock Hemlock is awesome. Those were the good ol' days...LOL! ;)
These are WONderful.
@chezjulie - I know! I am so glad Deborah reminded me of these because I have gotten a real kick out of watching the clips again. Thanks for commenting!
I think Alistair Cookie is the reason I love Cookie Monster so much. The 39 Stairs was a particular favorite of mine. The end cracks me up every time!
"You okay?"
"I do not know."
"Stay there, we still on camera."
"Hurry."
When I was old enough to watch Masterpiece Theater with my mom, I remember thinking that Alistair Cooke stole his name from Monsterpiece Theater. My mom laughed for a long time when she had to explain that to me. I was quite incensed.
Oh my gosh, I hit up YouTube for some of the Mysterious Theater clips that Deborah mentioned and I'm sitting here laughing myself silly. I had completely forgotten these!

@Ruth - Oh too funny! I wonder if I had similar notions about the origin of Alistair Cooke's name, only I can't remember them? LOL
And thanks for sharing the Dial M for Mother skit - too cute!
